Established in 1981, Juniper-Front Community Garden (JFCG) is one of the oldest community gardens in San Diego, providing a greenbelt in the culturally and economically diverse urban neighborhood of Bankers Hill, just north of downtown San Diego.
Serving the community, the pollinator garden is located outside the JFCG perimeter fence and features indigenous pollinator plants to attract bees, butterflies, birds and other pollinators, ensuring a vibrant, healthy environment for vegetables, fruit, and flowers.
Each JFCG member is responsible for gardening one plot, helping to maintain the common areas, and paying membership dues. Members plant, water, weed, and maintain the garden year-round. Due to demand, the wait to become a member is about two years.
